Josephine “Jo” Navaretta was appointed to the Board of Directors of Horizon Community Bank and its holding company Horizon Bancorp, Inc. “We have been wanting to expand our board and when we made a list of the characteristics we were seeking, Jo filled the bill perfectly” said Dr. Hitendra Chauhan, Chairman of the Board. “Our bank has struggled for the past few years as we dealt with the downturn in the economy and property values. We believe we have our problems behind us and were looking for someone with a track record of business success and high ethical standards to help us pursue a strategy of growth. Jo offers these strengths and is a well respected, long standing member of our community” said Jerry Ernst, President and CEO.
Navaretta was an original investor in the bank in 2003. She and her husband own Pitzers One Hour Air Conditioning and Ben Franklin Plumbing with operations throughout Mohave County and in Prescott Valley. In business since 1986, she and John are both active and vital members of our community with memberships in service organizations including Past President of Soroptomist International in Lake Havasu and active in the Lake Havasu Foundation for Higher Education, K12 Foundation, and Mohave Community College Foundation as well as the chamber of commerce. Additionally, Jo has served our community as President of the School Board since 1992.
“I am excited about this new opportunity. I started my business career in banking and I look forward to being an integral part of the success and growth of Horizon Community Bank in the years to come” Says Navaretta.
